“I have been seeing Dr. Delaney for a little over two years now. When I first started, I hadn’t really done anything. Let me just tell you, I’m now a true believer and there is no service on their list I wouldn’t do. It definitely stems from trust and over the years Dr. Delaney has gained it fully. I’m guessing that was why I never truly pulled the trigger before with anyone else. I started slow, a little Botox here and there, and eventually worked my way up the service list. I’ve had almost everything on their service list done. Halo’s, BBL’s, cool sculpting, micro needling, fillers, Botox, PRP, PRP injections, etc.”

What is PRP
What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and what are PRP therapy injections? PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn, and the red cells are isolated away from the platelet-rich plasma.
PRP therapy uses injections of a concentration of your platelets to accelerate your own healing system to improve your complexion, diminish acne scars, stimulate collagen, thicken the dermis, and diminish wrinkles.
PRP injections are prepared by taking one to a few tubes of your blood and running them through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected or placed directly into your treatment area. This releases your growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces.
Why Choose PRP
PRP therapy encourages new growth and signals to the body to infuse the area with growth factors. PRP can treat hair loss, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, pigmentation, volume loss, wrinkles, fine lines, aging skin and crepey skin texture.
PRP is helpful for rebuilding collagen and elastin, both of which are important proteins in keeping the skin supple and youthful, and it also interacts with other skin cells and the matrix underneath the skin.
What does PRP Improve
PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production which:
Thickens and firms thinning skin
Smooths wrinkles and fine lines
Improves overall skin texture and tone
Helps people who suffer from rosacea or melasma
Plumps up sagging skin
Improves deep creases
Improve one’s complexion
Diminishes acne scars
Thickens the dermis
Stimulates hair growth
PRP FAQ
How is PRP therapy performed
PRP involves taking blood from a vein in the arm and placing it into a special centrifuge. The platelets are separated from the rest of the components of the blood. The platelets are combined with a special substrate to enhance the effects. This is then injected or placed onto the treatment area.
Is PRP Painful?
While everyone’s pain tolerances vary, patient’s report only mild discomfort with PRP injections. Lidocaine is applied to the treatment area. Then a needle is used to draw blood from a vein in the arm. Next, small needles are used to perform the actual injections however, there may be some temporary discomfort during the injections. Immediately following the treatment, you may experience some redness and bruising which will resolve quickly.
How many injections will I need?
Most patients notice improved radiance and luminosity in their skin after one treatment. For optimal results, we recommend 2 to 3 treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Continued improvements in your skin occurs in the following three months from the continued stimulation of collagen and cellular repair. Results may last up to two years. Maintenance treatments may be scheduled every six to twelve months, depending on the individual.
How is PRP used with Halo or Microneedling
PRP is spread on your face during the treatment and absorbed by your skin. This cuts the recovery time down for both a Halo treatment and Microneedling while at the same time it speeds up healing and the collagen production process.
Are there any risks?
Since the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is processed from your own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection. Nevertheless, before any treatment, disclose all the medications you are taking (including herbs) to Dr. Delaney.
What can I expect after the treatment
You can resume your normal activities after a PRP injection. You may experience some mild swelling, redness, or minor bruising following the treatment.
Dr. Delaney’s Input on PRP Treatments
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy is a safe, non-surgical, advanced skincare treatment method that harnesses your body’s own natural power to heal itself. As you age, your body produces less collagen. Fine lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, creases, and parentheses at the corners of the mouth are a result of the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin. Injecting PRP, which is a concentrated amount of your own platelets, promotes cellular rejuvenation and improves the structural integrity and health of the skin. Such as:
- tightening the skin by improving collagen production
- softening lines and wrinkles
- repairing age related damage
PRP injections are prepared by taking one to a few tubes of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are placed over the treatment area or injected directly into your tissue. PRP releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces for maximizing treatment results.
