Spravato (esketamine) is a nasal spray version of a ketamine-derived compound, FDA-approved specifically for treatment-resistant depression. Ketamine infusions are IV-administered and used off-label. Spravato has a defined clinical protocol and is covered by many insurance plans.
Many insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover Spravato for patients who meet the clinical criteria. Prior authorization is typically required. The office can assist with the prior authorization process.
