Laser treatments have been shown to be incredibly effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and other skin issues that affect us as we age. There are two main types of laser treatments, one that works on the skin surface, and one that penetrates deeper and causes the skin to rejuvenate from the inside out.
How Does the Halo™ Work?
The Halo™ laser combines ablative and non-ablative treatments in one package, dramatically improving results, while also reducing patient downtime.
The ablative treatment focuses on the surface of the skin where it strips off the top layer to allow a healthier layer of skin to emerge. Ablative lasers are great for correcting acne scars, extreme sun damage, and deep wrinkles. The Halo™ mitigates this by dividing the skin into grids, meaning only a portion of the skin is treated.
The non-ablative laser portion of treatment focuses on promoting collagen development in the lower layers of the skin. Collagen is the protein that causes the skin to be firm and elastic. Unfortunately, our skin produces less of it as we age. By promoting the production of new collagen, and stimulating the skin with a laser, the treatment can improve skin texture, get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, and also get rid of areas of hyperpigmentation.
The Halo™ laser combines the benefits of both fractional ablative, and non-ablative treatments, giving you the best results for the lowest possible downtime.
The Procedure
When you book a Halo™ laser treatment at Delaney MD Aesthetics & Anti-Aging clinic in Edmonds, WA, our specialist will first have a consultation where they will explain the procedure to you. Upon beginning the procedure, they may then apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to ensure the most comfort possible for the patient. The laser treatment may take between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the treatment area. You should see visible results within a couple of days, and for most patients, one to two treatments are sufficient to achieve optimal results.
