BBL for Acne

Are you looking for a long-lasting acne treatment?

Treatment studies and research has shown that BBL is extremely effective when treating acne. It is a ground-breaking alternative to oral medication and long-term antibiotics.

I had the most amazing experience at Elysium. I wanted to turn back the clock and am I ever impressed with the results! I feel like my face looks 15 years younger and feels so much younger and resilient! It’s now part of my regiment that I’m going to do this once a year, at least!
Jannette and Geo are great at making you comfortable and fully informed about everything in the process.
I would highly recommend Elysium and the procedures they do!

Wonderful experience! Dr Delaney is a true skin and beauty artist, with a very open honest approach to what treatments and procedures fit your personal needs and wants. Delightful personality, extremely knowledgeable and very skilled in his techniques. I am very nervous about looking like I have had to much work done; I strive on a look that is subtle and hardly anyone notices I have had anything done. Dr. Delaney not only honored and respected my goals he accomplished them with such precision! I had BBL laser, fillers and Botox. I will be returning soon for my HALO treatment! The down-time was minimal, and surprisingly manageable. Can’t wait to return, not only for my treatments, but especially the warm and inviting clinic Dr. Delaney and Janette provide while you are there!

I have had 2 procedures with Dr Delaney and he’s the best. Very happy with my results and totally trust his abilities.

What Is Acne

Acne is a persistent skin disease that causes red, swollen pimples to form typically on the face and neck areas.

Acne forms when hair follicles get clogged with oil glands mixed with bacteria – this combination of cells can lead to painful breakouts (pimple). Treatment for acne usually involves using topical agents like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid which help remove dead skin cells from blocked pores while minimizing inflammation.

What Causes Acne

It is important to keep your face clean and dry in order to decrease the impact of acne.

A few other causes of acne are:

$

Skin pores which get clogged up with dirt or oil that builds up over time- also known as sebum

$

Hormones such as estrogen and testosterone change during puberty

$

Oils that are left behind from these glands are activated due to increased blood flow.

$

Hormonal fluctuations from puberty or menstruation may trigger an outbreak in some people with skin problems such as hormonal cysts on their chin called “papules.”

How Do You Fix Acne

You can use different treatments to cure acne. Some of the most common are topical creams, antibiotics, and oral medications like Accutane. BBL is extremely effective when treating acne. It is a ground-breaking alternative to oral medication and long-term antibiotics. It usually takes several sessions in a timed series.

BBL Acne FAQ

How Does the Sciton BBL Treatment Work?

Broadband light (BBL) technology utilizes the power of light to treat the appearance of skin blemishes. This powerful light heats up the bottom layers of the skin, causing your skin to start producing extra collagen. It targets melanin (the pigment responsible for skin blemishes) and vaporize it.

Who Is a Candidate for the BBL Treatment?

Dr. Delaney will analyze your skin based on The Fitzpatrick skin typing classification. If it is right for you, a skin care program will be designed.

What is the BBL Procedure?

When you book a BBL treatment at the Elysium Medical Arts Center, you will have a consultation to assess your needs and suitability for the procedure.

The treatment itself is fairly simple. A soothing gel is placed on your face, and you are given protective goggles for your eyes. During the BBL treatment, you will feel a flashing sensation of bright light.

The procedure usually takes 35 to 40 minutes depending on the area being treated and the type of treatment being offered.

There is no downtime so you can easily go about your day after treatment.

BBL is typically done in a series. Depending on your particular needs, you will receive multiple treatments spaced out at intervals.

Results will be seen over weeks to months as you continue with your outlined plan.

Dr. Delaney’s Input on BBL Acne Treatments

BroadBand Light (BBL) delivers powerful light energy to heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. In addition, the light energy penetrates deep into the skin to boost your body’s natural ability to fight the appearance of aging. The result? Skin that is naturally beautiful and visibly younger looking, year after year!

These pre- and post- care instructions are intended to guide you through the treatment process and get you on your way to naturally beautiful skin!

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT?

  • Use sunscreen and physical sun protection.
  • Avoid extended sun exposure, i.e., beach, travel to sunny locations, sunbathing, sports
  • Inform your BBL clinician if any physician has ordered Accutane for you in the last 6 months.
  • Inform your doctor of any medical conditions or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TREATMENT?

  • The procedure is typically gentle and safe.
  • There is no need for a topical anesthetic.
  • Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses.
  • You may briefly feel a warm or light snapping sensation as the light is absorbed.

WHAT TO DO AFTER YOUR TREATMENT?

  • You may experience some redness in the treatment area that should resolve within a few hours.
  • You may notice the darkening of your pigmented spots, followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage.
  • Follow your clinician’s aftercare plan. There is virtually no downtime after this non-invasive and gentle procedure. In most cases, you are able to apply make-up, return to work and resume most of your activities immediately.

TIPS & TRICKS

  • Use soft cloth and towels to avoid any scrubbing.
  • Wear a wide-brimmed hat or sun-protecting clothing post-treatment to avoid blistering, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation.

WATCH-OUTS

  • If the treated area is especially warm within the first 12 hours after the treatment, a cold compress or ice pack can be used to provide comfort.
  • In the unlikely event, that the skin appears red or swollen (sunburn sensation), an icepack can provide comfort, the same as Vitamin E or Aloe Vera applied to the treatment area. In rare cases, oral pain relievers, i.e., Extra Strength Tylenol or Advil, may be used.

Client Raves

I have been seeing Dr. Delaney for a little over two years now. When I first started I hadn’t really done anything. Let me just tell you, I’m now a true believer and there is no service on their list I wouldn’t do. It definitely stems from trust and over the years Dr. Delaney has gained it fully. I’m guessing that was why I never truly pulled the trigger before with anyone else. I started slow, a little Botox here and there, and eventually worked my way up the service list. I’ve had almost everything on their service list done. Halo’s, BBL’s, cool sculpting, micro needling, fillers, Botox, PRP, PRP injections, etc.

The first year I was singing Dr. Delaney’s praises from the roof tops. The common response was, “you don’t need any of that”, “you’re so pretty just the way you are”, “why would you do that to yourself?”.

Continue on to year 2, same people:
“Where do you go again”, “what was the procedure called”, “do you have that Dr’s info for your face stuff?”.

All this to say, stop waiting. Dr. Delaney has taken his time to help me achieve the results I was seeking in a natural looking way and exceeded all my expectations. Above and beyond is the appropriate thing to say here. He has made my features more striking and all with non-invasive treatments. . He is keeping me on a more reasonable level when I walk in wanting a whole new face because let’s face it, I love the drama, (it’s a rabbit hole) and helps me embrace my natural features on a much higher level.

Because preservation takes time, over the years it has really shown up. I’m 37 and constantly get mistaken for being in my 20’s. I will never stop seeing Dr. Delaney until he retires. Which at that point I may just have to embrace the aging process. Hopefully I’ll be in my 70’s when that has to happen.

Thank you Dr. Delaney for being my youth preserving superhero!
